HOME

In the old Lithuanian culture, where my roots are, Home was the fundamental part of ones life. Home is where a person is born, grows up, raises his children, where he passes away. Home there is guarded by different gods and goddesses, who look after different life aspects and home areas.
Modern culture has nearly forgotten importance of home as it was used to be. In modern times people change houses depending on the quality of life and convenience of specific location, condition of the building, but mainly not the meaning of Home at its essence, where their roots are.
Moving abroad made me rethink what is home for me. Is it a specific land? Is it a specific place? Building?
I realized that my home is where my dearest people are, where my memories lie. And thus, my home is dividing myself into pieces, as it is in many places.
With my husband we are creating our home together. We brought our Cats to our home and they especially make our home the Home.
They are spirits of our Home.
Always there. Always waiting. Always with you.
They are the eyes of home. They see everything and know everything.
They are Home.
